Four Meaningful Holiday Movies, Blogmas day 13

It’s Blogmas Day 13. Which means Christmas is 12 days away. Christmas and Blogmas is incomplete without noting heartwarming Holiday movies. Cozy up, turn on your device of choice, and feel the feels!

It’s A Wonderful Life – This lead character’s emotional torment is common. Wondering if we matter while believing we don’t. James Stewart stars in 1947’s contemplative flick sharing George Bailey’s reflective, desperate, and worrisome inner struggle with his personal value. As Christmas arrives George Bailey’s son teaches, “Every time you hear a bell ring, it means that some angels just got his wings.”

StepmomSusan Sarandon and Julia Roberts star in this 1998 tear-jerker that forces forgiveness. Christmas is the backdrop for magical moments in nature and within a family.

The Holiday – Two ladies who seek a big change switch continents and homes. A sweet, light film with the warmest, coziest English cottage. Just viewing the home makes you feel happy and content with a huge desire to live there. This movie is best watched in pajamas with hot chocolate. Just sayin’

Love Actually – The intricately connected cast experiences love and meaning all over London. The movie opens with words that say it all!

Interesting list of movies. Although I haven’t heard of all the listed movies I haven’t seen any of them. Why? The closest movie theater to movie is 25+ miles away.

HA! A couple of them are classics. Some of the others are just fun and lovely. They are all older movies. If any of them at the cinema now it’s because of a special Christmas showing.

I love the Holiday, it’s something we always watch around Christmas as a family (even my dad, who isn’t the biggest rom-com fan). And Stepmom is absolutely beautiful, but also heart wrenching- definitely worth seeing this bittersweet film.

First time I saw Stepmom I sobbed. It’s a good story. The Holiday is so sweet. I’m going to need to watch that over the next few weeks.
